Once again, I must extend my deepest, and most sincerest apologies to you all. Recently, at work, they’ve cracked down and completely blocked all external internet sites, and on top of that, run regular scheduled centerwide scans for any open browser that bypasses the firewall. Seeing as work was my primary place of blogging adventures because typically when I get home, I’m swamped with like… everything… I haven’t had much time, if any, to post anything remotely interesting.

In my folder, I’ve got tons of screenshots, quotes, Socializing 101 ideas, and all around qwirky randomness everyone I know loves and enjoys. I promise I’ll be able to pick it up once again when the insanity in my life starts to die down. But till then, here’s a summary of what you’ve missed.

Mika’s Top 10 This Week:

1. Amber is still a noob.
2. The guild downed Mimiron, Vezax, and got Yogg into phase 2 before we started having problems.
3. I’ve rolled 3 new toons. 2 on the Earthen Ring server, look for Reikyva (58- Nelf DK) or Ryni (5-Nelf Rogue) if your interested for some fun RP, or Sylvyya (5-Belf Rogue) on Cenarion Circle ^_~
4. Reì on Azgalor has been racking achievements left and right and occationally topping charts.
5. My RP blog still isn’t quite finished yet, still putting the final touches on that one too.
6. Thanks to Tharion Greyseer he’s helping me get some reference points to get a possible career in writing off the ground, so I’m looking into that.
7. I’m getting ready for the big move, leaving on October 1st (Yay!)
8. Guild Drama has escalated through the roof because of a particular Hunter who is the single most egotistical, self-centered, rude, arrogant, piece of sixteen year old shit I’ve ever met.
9. Mika finally did ToC 10 man with a pug who one shot everything but faction champtions. (We had no mages, no locks, no hunters… virtually no CC. BURN THE DPS!!)
10. Did I mention Amber is still a noob?

There it is, folks… Mika’s Top 10 You Missed this week.

Disclaimer: I’ll be going into further details in the near future regarding some points… Amber’s failsauce… self-explainitory.

Once again, thank you thank you soooo much for being patient with me, and I’m soooo sorry for slacking. Point and laugh… I’m a scrub, lol.

So… very very eventful weekend for the shaman.

To start it off, last week I was still trying to determine if I wanted to roll resto or enhancement for my main spec. It was a problem that was driving me insane as I was trying to build 2 sets at the same time and playing rock, paper, scissors with myself flipping a coin trying to decide what to spend emblems on.

Then suddenly, a light out of the sky fell upon me. Surrounding me and embracing me in its holy warmth, guiding me to the path I shou- oh wait… no.

Emalon dropped my 8.5 enhancement legs.

Okay, Yay!!

So I took that as a sign from the WoW gods. If you want lewts… go enhancement as your main spec. So… as the good little WoW addict I am, I did what I was told and spent 58 emblems and got my enhancement chest.

Hm…

But… how was my luck with drops going to be??

<_<

To test if the WoW Gods were really nice to me, I ran a Naxx 25 on my Shaman.

KT DOWN

The gods then looked down upon her, and said “I shall cleanse thee of thy scrubness… no more shall ye walk in shame…”

I was just like… reaping gear left and right, multiple pieces from like… every wing… for enhancement and resto. I was all wide-eyed and giddy like a school girl. Hehehehehehe… omg…. PURPLZ!!

So after that, I was certainly happy, and I decided that maybe I didn’t want to take a break from the shammy.

Deciding to play her, I wanted to recustomize her because, frankly… her face bothered me. So I give you:

Old Reikia-
Old Reikia

New Reì-
New Reì

When Nightghost saw her new name, he made an attempt to pronounce it. For the record… Reì is not pronounced “Ri”, for anyone who knows Japanese, it’s pronounced “Ray”. Some might note that I have like… a Japanese fixation when naming my toons. Mikata, not to be confused and pronounced “Ma-kee-tah” or “Me-kee-tah”. Mikata is pronounced “Meeka-tah” with a hard emphasis between the “Mika” and “ta”.

The meanings?

Rei means soul, and Mikata means ally.

Anyway, back on topic here.

Sunday we went and did Ulduar 10. It was half BoO, half GMM (Green Mountain Militia), and surprisingly, we made it to Hodir, and downed him with a tank, 4 healers, and 5 DPS, lawl making it 1 minute until the enrage timer. Again… I was reaping gear, but for resto this time.

I now have a crazy resto set and a crazy enhancement set. I’m so so so excited…. I can’t wait to keep gearing her. And on top of that… she’s so totally cute now!!

Personally… I firmly believe… that recusomizing her… boosted her DPS.

>_>

In other news…

MIKA FINALLY GOT HER SPECTRAL KRIS FRIDAY NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-snuggles her new Kris-

ilu… I really do…. ilu lots and lots I do…

🐱

Lawl

So we were in Ulduar last night, bulldozing bosses and lol’ing along the way, as Ky and Amber will also say. Hell, we were even in our healer channel trying to conduct which blogger was going to be talking about what today. With 4 bloggers in one guild… we don’t want to type over each other, haha.

Well I got the fun in lawl’ing at someone’s QQing. Now, the sad part is actually half this conversation toon place in vent, and sadly I cannot SS that.. BUT… I atleast got what was in /o chat. (SCORE!!)

It started out with one of our noobish officers logging into vent, and asking if we had a spot for him in Ulduar… 1 ½ hours after we start it. o.O Uh…. No? We start at 7, he logs on at 8:30 and expects a spot? LOLOLOLOLOL The best part, when we tell him no, he gets pissy in /o chat explaining why we should kick someone so he can come in.

CAUTION:
Hilarity will ensure… you may even pee yourself a little.

does he really think we care?

Yes… because he had a bad day, he should get to come in just because he’s pissy.

(I know his chat is hard to understand because he can’t grasp proper English, but in a nutshell…

He was at school waiting for someone for 45 minutes who didn’t tell him she had a ride, and on top of that, he had a soccer game and had to sit the bench because another player forgot his shirt to play and ‘pissy kid’ had to give his up and not play… even worse, his team lost.)

When we tell him no, he still insists that we kick someone… of which we… kinda… wont?

Five minutes later:

Amber makes a funny, qq

AMG, LAWLZOR

Amber makes a funny he doesn’t like because we won’t let him come.

Keep in mind, this is an officer, one of the best DPS we have, and he’s QQing because he can’t have his cake and eat it to.

In vent he makes a comment around the lines of, “Come on… doesn’t anyone want to be nice to me since I’ve had a bad day?”

Amber then responds in our healer channel:

Amber lawl

When no one responds, he finally catches the hint.

buh-bye

Maybe he doesn’t realize how he sounds because 1. he’s much younger than the rest of the guild, 2. he was in a bad mood, and 3. ever since he became an officer he’s become an egotistical PITA… but the other officers were growing aggravated because we had to listen to this it for half an hour of his bitching.

Anyway… look for parts 2 and 3 from Amber and Ky of last night, enjoy. =)

Last night we had our official guild reform meeting. For the most part, most of our members were able to make it. We did have a few who had RL issues come first, but we all know the cardinal rule of MMO gamming. For those who weren’t able to make it, myself and the officers will be filling them in on the details to what happened.

During the meeting, we discussed issues from the guild ranks, the mass gquits, the gbank access, progression raiding, and future expectations from the members in the guild.

Now, it’s far FAR too extensive to go into great detail about what was said, but when we asked feedback from the members, those who spoke up agreed that the changes in the guild were for the better of the guild seeing as we are no longer going to solely categorizing ourselves as a pure social guild, and we are moving farther into considering ourselves as a progression guild.

A few of the major changes included the revocation of gbank privileges from veterans in the guild. Because of the insertion of the new rank “Core Raider”, the veteran access has been moved to this rank. Veterans, like members and recruits, have no gbank access, and cannot view the higher quality items.

Now, a “Core Raider” is a position that has to be inquired about to show you are interested and can commit to most of the 9 standards of a “Core Raider” in the officer’s eyes. This rank has some gbank access, and can view the higher quality items in the gbank. This spot also guarantees you a spot in progression raids, but, if a time comes to where it is seen you can’t meet most of the 9 standards of a core raider, the rank will be revoked.

The 9 standards include:

1.) You demonstrate a solid understanding of how BoO runs work. (Loot rules, Policies)
2.) You come to raids prepared, repairs, with whatever you need.
3.) You pay attention and do as you are told durring progression raids. Stay on task.
4.) You do not come to raids late without notifying an officer ahead of time.
5.) Your gear is 100% gemed, enchanted, and you have a solid working understanding of your class and spec.
6.) You understand that the raid is not just about YOU, there are 24 other people there working hard. So pull your own weight, Do not get carried.
7.) You are comfortable with “taking charge” of the situation and/or raid. Meaning, there may come a time with I cannot attend a raid, that doesn’t mean you don’t go. It means 1, 2, 3, or even 10 Core raiders get together and pull the group together, lead the raid in the same manner in which I or an officer would.
8.) You have an open and compatable raid availability. (Meaning you know ahead of time if you can make a raid, and you can join us for atleast 2 nights a week if needed)
9.) You maintain a POSITIVE attitude, wipes happen, people get frustrated, but saying “Fuck this” and hearthing is a bad idea.

*Note* With this rank comes a higher expectation for Gbank donations. Remember kids, the bank exists to help progress our guild, but it doesn’t stock itself.

Right now members are going through an evaluation to see who would/can meet the criteria of a ‘core raider’.

Officer positions took a startling blow below the waist… they promoted Ky and myself as officers, lawl. Now every officer has a tank and a healer (I think with the exception of one, Amber’s boytoy –correct me if I’m wrong Amber-). We are the TankHealers and the HealingTanks, haha. 😛

Gbank was also reorganized due to the rank changes mentioned above.

This is the brief, brief, brief rundown of the changes. Last night in vent took about half an hour to go through them in immense details, but we all appreciated the clarification. As I said, the member’s who made the meeting last night all seemed to welcome the changes with an optimistic outlook, and they understand why they’re being put in place.

Hopefully with these changes we can straighten up the guild and get back into the swing of things. We’ve had a staggering blow or two in the past few weeks, but we’re tough cookies, we’re pushing forward, revamping, and we’re building on a strong foundation to be something great. At this point, it’s only a matter of time before we’re punching Yogg in the face with 25 people all sporting the name Brotherhood of Oblivion above their heads proudly.

There is no doubt that in all aspects of life, you have assholes, and you have bitches. Even you, who is reading this, cannot deny that at some point, you’ve been an asshole or a bitch, hell… perhaps even multiple times if not everyday. Some people relish in their glory of other peoples’ pain and misery. Others are only cruel when provoked after an incident that acts as the straw that broke the camel’s back. But none the less… we’ve all been there.

Well… today I’m going to briefly tap the Bitch Hat on in. I promise… it’s only brief.

/Bitch Hat On

Last night after running some errands after OT at work, I logged on to play around on my druid for a bit. For some reason, something told me to check the logs for the guild. I don’t know why, but I suppose something nagging me in the back of my mind was praying that a good chunk of people had left from the guild that merged with us.

Lo’ and behold…

I open the logs, and due to the incident that I had instigated in vent, it ended with a very anti-climatic Gquit of the guild that merged with us.

Now I sit and think to myself… “Hahahaha… okay, now seeing as that problem is taken care of…”

Yes. I was a bitch about the situation. Personally, as I had put before in my previous post in a more kinder and subtle way, the warrior that took the shield was a greedy bastard, end of story. You don’t agree because he ‘won the roll’, well that’s probably because you’re in the same boat as him winning a roll on some phat lootz that you didn’t want to give up because it was shiny and purple, whatev.

Anyway, upon further conversation with officers and guildies regarding the situation, their departure wasn’t really much of a hindrance. The group who had merged with us obviously did not hold our same concerns and values as the current vets in the guild. They really had no big concern with progression as we do, and they were more concerned about the benefit of themselves over the guild.

Most never even signed up for raids, the others who did were bottoming out on charts and certainly not pulling their weight. Some would come without enchants or gems in their gear, and others were trying to pass over justifying blues in Ulduar 25… you can’t justify a blue in Ulduar 25.

But, back to the point.

That group of people leaving the guild because of the loot issue was really a blessing in disguise. We were able to weed out those who were abusing us as a casual progression guild out of their own greed, and when they were called on their bluff, they quickly put their tails between their legs and went their own way.

With that said and done, we plan on resuming our role as a 10 man progression because 25 mans are still way out of the question. Sure, we hope on eventually finding more members, raiders who share our same compassion for the game and for one another as friends. While yes, we want to see end game content at some point in time, we also are all close as friends.

/Bitch Hat Off

Okay, so maybe that was longer than expected, but it’s a relief none the less and that should be the last you hear of the scenario.

In other news;

Mikata loves Italian Food. She is going to Olive Garden for lunch, yaaaay!!

Mikata was also girly last night, like she does only once in a blue moon, and spoiled herself yesterday getting her hair and nails done.

Mikata also needs to remember to get a game card because her time expires tomorrow. >_> (I don’t like using my CC for a sub because in the past 2 years I’ve had to replace my card like 6 times.)

Mikata is listening to 36 Crazyfists while working and typing up her blog.

Mikata would like to say that the creepy guy who sits 4 seats down from her dressed in all black looks scary and is giving off a homicidal maniac vibe… and she’s nervous he is between her and the door.

Mikata notices she has a tendency to chew gum on both sides of her mouth simultaniously.

Finally, Mikata would like to give everyone a /hug because she’s in a good mood today. ♥♥♥

Last night BoO went in and finished up the Naxx 25 we had started on Thursday. For the most part it went fairly smoothly, but it took us about 3 ½ hours to finish clearing the last three wings before Sapph and KT.

Now I could go on about the 9 healers we had during Sapph’s fight, or the fact that we wiped in Gothik because the undead side all died due to lack of heals and some DPS… but a bigger issue was raised at the end of the night.

During most of these farm raids, or any lesser than progression raid, I take on the responsibility of being loot master because 1. not a lot of people are up to the responsibility and the constant qq over gear, and 2. I don’t mind taking some stress off the officers who are leading the raid.

There have only been two or three occasions I can remember mislooting something to someone, but thank god for being able to trade it to trade it to eligible raiders now. But a question was raised at the end of the night due to a certain scene that went out of hand over the shield that KT dropped.

Now, this is a very controversial subject in my guild right now.

One of the warrior in the run was running as a DPS spec, but he did inform me his main spec was prot, so he would be rolling for prot gear.

Alright, no problem.

What was the problem is that at the end of the night, the shield off KT dropped.

Before said warrior joined the group (because he came in halfway through), the shield, if it were to drop, was going to be defaulted to Mach because he needed it as an upgrade. Mach is the GM and the progression MT. So an upgrade for him makes things easier for the rest of us for progression raids.

Remembering this as I got to the shield, I received a tell reminding me that said warrior was rolling for prot gear so I would remember when he rolled.

I was now obligated to post the shield for rolls to be fair.

Mach lost the roll. The events that ensued were not pleasant.

I tried reasoning with the warrior telling him it was the guild progression MT who needed it. But he literally proceeded to QQ because he won the roll.

Now, some of you are thinking. “Well if he won the roll he won the roll… shit happens, it’s a game.”

But others are thinking “Well… and upgrade for him makes it easier for healers to keep him alive during progression which makes it easier to also focus on keeping DPS alive while the upgrade in gear also helps Tank threat output so DPS doesn’t pull, etc”… a domino effect.

Steve, as subtly as he could, promptly left the raid, logged, and went to smoke. The friends of said warrior then began to laugh at the situation, and began to crack jokes regarding Mach’s reaction.

This is my boyfriend you’re talking about. I then proceeded to open my big mouth.

I told them they needed to look at things from his perspective. The GM who puts all of his time and effort into helping the guild and it’s members. Bending over backwards to cater to their needs, gets shit on my a new recruit who hardly even raids. Steve has spent 6-8 hours a week in Naxx 25, trying to get that shield for months… that’s literally DAYS of his life spent for nothing.

Someone then decided to speak out against me and state that if he saw it as a waste then he’s a greedy GM. (not exact words but close)

It was then that all hell broke loose in vent. Old members and officers against the new recruits who just did not understand. Said recruit who spoke out against me then stated that he could understand why Mach was so angry because he too put forth a lot of effort to help guildies, but Steve was being ridiculous over a game.

The argument ended when Blacklion promptly informed said recruit that he was NOTHING like Mach and no where near committed like our GM. The recruit then left.

The issue had turned from a low recruit getting loot over the progression MT, to the guild defending thier GM reputation that I had seemed to soil now. Something I’m going to regret doing and desperately try to repent for.

So how do you draw the line between deserving loot and whoring loot?

A GM lost a huge upgrade, one of the best shield in the game, a GM who is our 25 man Ulduar MT, a GM who puts forth all his time and effort into the guild cutting gems for those who need it, keeping the gbank filled and organized with herbs, flasks, food, catering to the members and their needs, trying to please EVERYONE because he’s trying to be a good GM.

But the new recruit warrior who doesn’t even raid won the roll.

You decide.

I’m sure everyone has heard that line, “Here’s yer sign…” from the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, where a joke just flies over someone’s head and the irony of the situation is almost incomprehensible? Well… I had a “Here’s yer sign…” moment last night.

Remember how I said we were going to ‘steamroll’ Naxx 25 because we’ve had it on farm for heaven knows how long? And remember how I said that I was either going to have a post full of Win or a post full of Fail? Well… even though we’re trying to progress in Ulduar 25, but see to be getting stuck with the same people who are clueless, we still can’t even clear more than one wing in Naxx 25 in two and a half hours.

….Here’s yer sign…

It took me a moment, and as much as I hate to admit it -in which I didn’t want to publicly admit it in front of everyone- but should we really, honestly and truly, be trying to replace Naxx 25 runs with Ulduar 25 runs with the gear level of 60% of the raid barely, just barely, at Ulduar 10 standards??

Last night, granted yes we did have some of our core DPS, healers, and a core tank, but the rest of the group, some composed with a sprinkle of alts, should NOT have taken 2 ½ hours to clear construct wing in Naxx 25.

Let me give you a break down on how this run went.

Patchwerk
This fight, is not hard.

1st Attempt
So far so good, get Patchwerk to 60%… Mikata bites the dust, hateful tank down, tried to Brez, didn’t get it in time, half the raid down, we wipe it.

Mikata only has 38.6k health… arjthgapghap;g And I was a hateful tank because the other alt tank who was tanking the boss only had 35k health.

2nd Attempt
Insta wipe… DUMB ASS MURRI DECIDES TO CHARGE THE BOSS THROUGH THE FUCKING SLIME!!!

3rd Attempt
MURRI CHARGES THE GOD DAMNED BOSS AGAIN!!!

ASJA:EHP:AKWRHEHGKAJA”OJHG:ALKNJH:KANEH

4TH FUCKING ATTEMPT AT PATCHWERK
Steve steps in, tells Murri to GTFO and tanks the boss.

Patch dies.

Grobb
This boss was a surprising one shot. Yes, we did have people dropping bombs in the middle of the raid like scrubs, but it seemed everyone else had the common sense to GTFO the green shit.

Gluth
Being the tank with the second highest health, and the only one out of Murri and myself Atropus could trust, I got the honor of swap tanking the boss with Andy.

Macharious: “MIKATA TAUNT!!”
Me: “I DID, ATROPUS TAUNTED BACK!!”
Atropus: “MY STACKS FELL OFF!!”
Me: “NO THEY DIDN’T, YOU’VE GOT 6!!”
Atropus: “Oh damn… TAUNT BACK!!”

/facepalm

Gluth dies.

Thaddius
We spend 20 MINUTES figuring out who is healing, who is tanking, who is DPSing what side, Hunt and Amber argue over recount because Hunt is retarded and needs to be globally muted sometimes, and it’s just OMFG LET GO.

Since Murri can’t prot DPS for shit (like my tank spec feral dps is any better, aisjhgpajg), he’s tanking one of the bosses. They both die, we jump down to Thadd. About 30 seconds in we hear.

Atropus: “Murri… do NOT pull him off me, watch your THREAT!!”
Murri: “Oh, sorry, my bad. I’m in defensive stance.”
Macharious: “Why are you in defensive stance? Switch to zerker stance.”
Murri: “Alright, but I’ll switch back here soon, I get more DPS in defensive stance.”
Macharious: “No the fuck you don’t, stay in zerker stance.”

Thaddius dies.

Keep in mind, between every pull we have to stop or slow down for one reason or another. Someone leaves or someone has to be replaced, or someone has to be globally muted, WTFE. This shit is taking too damn long.

We go to try our hand in the Military Wing.

Instructor Razuvious

1st Attempt
The healers can’t seem to keep the understudies up for shit, and they keep dying. So what happens?

RAZUVIOUS CRAZY ANGRY RAGE PEW PEW EVERYONE DIE.

Mikata trys to taunt him, pops Survival Instincs, has 50k health, and gets oneshotted and omnomnom’s the floor.

Amber: “Where is my tank, my understudy is attacking me!”
Atropus: “Your tank is dead.”

Everyone dies.

2nd Attempt

WHY ARE THE ADDS DYING, THE BOSS IS RUNNING AROUND EVERYWHERE, HALF THE RAID IS DEAD, PICK UP AN ADD, TAUNT, BONE ARMOR, OMFG!!!!!!

Everyone dies.

We call it a night.

Yes… a night full of disappointments, Here’s yer sign… that leads me to the conclusion:

How can we expect to make very much progress in Ulduar 25 when we can barely… BARELY handle a raid we’ve had on farm for so long. I’m not sure if it was the lack of focus, or the lack of commitment, but we shouldn’t have had these problems. I get the feeling that most of these new recruits just aren’t taking it seriously. (Yes, I know it’s a game, get the fuck off my back, I don’t like wasting 3 hours of my life for school yard bullshit in a game I play to enjoy.)

I think it’s time we should reevaluate our current raiding situation.

I work for a major student loan company, and seeing as a new school semester is about to start, we’re in the middle of our peak season. Because of the high volume in my processing department, we’ve been required to work some overtime.
18 hours of overtime a week to be exact.
Alright… alright… no biggie.

Let me give you insight on what I ACTUALLY do at my job.

I still meet my quota requirements, no problem, but I certainly don’t mind doing 36 hours of OT in the next two weeks. =3 I should have like half a million blogs on my blogroll that I love reading from a day to day basis…. But…. I’m kinda lazy.

In other news

Tonight we will be steamrolling (hopefully) a Naxx 25 tonight. (Hell, by the looks of the sign-ups we might as well do a Ulduar 10), but if we do manage to get 25 people against their will into Naxx, I am going to beg, and plead, for people to at least TRY to focus. Yes, we’ve ran it 15,468,971,255 times, I could run Naxx asleep in a coma and not die, but it doesn’t mean I’m going to half-ass my way through it.

Amber, darling, you mean the world to me, and I don’t want to overstep any boundaries, but I am most certainly willing to become Queen Bitch of raid runs and punish stupidity by openly making it known how big of a moron they’re being if things get out of hand in your runs.

It can be like good cop-bad cop…. Without the good cop. =D

But, I can promise one thing, after tonight, I will certainly have 1 of 2 things. A post full of OMGOMGYAY, or a post ful of QQWTFDIAF for tomorrow. (Maybe I can finally get the elusive Grim Toll I’ve lost 11 times now)

Thanks to my wonderful friend Ky from Casual Hardcore, I’ve been introduced, and labeled with the term ‘shitstorming’ from my apparent reaction to his post on our guild forums.

Now, I’m going to show you what apparent ‘shitstorming’ means by the amount of QQ in my posts that I didn’t even realize were there until after I reread them the next day.

Summing up our posts wouldn’t nearly do the justice from our forum, so I’ll just go ahead and quote directly from the forums.

And to think, our poor lovable mage Miss BB started all this with a minor question if we could just run a few farm raids for low geared guildies.

Kyrilean

OK, this might make some of you think I’m a prick, but I’m going to speak my mind anyway because I’ve reached an age where I don’t care much what people think of me.

Last night’s Naxx run was frustrating to say the least. Wiping on the 2nd trash pull in a raid we’ve had on farm for months is not a great way to start the raid. I personally didn’t want to go because like Mach said, I’m one of the ones that has run it to death on three toons now.

Erdkrieg, my only current toon that may need an item or two still from Naxx25, was already saved this week. Maedchen needs nothing. Kyrileanthos needs nothing. So my attendance to that raid was solely to support the guild and helping people to not only have a chance to raid something, but get a few pieces of gear or emblems.

The reason I was frustrated with Naxx25 wasn’t exactly because of the constant wiping. It was rather because of the inane chatter going on in vent that led me to believe that a good majority of the raid wasn’t paying attention. It may be Naxx, but when people are screwing around not really caring what they’re doing, wiping, and then continue to chatter about random things obviously not paying attention to the raid, I get irritated.

So that said, I am more than happy to use any of my three healers to support a guild Naxx25 or other raid, but I am not OK supporting a guild run where people are going to screw around and not take it seriously. I’m a casual player with a hardcore raider mentality. If I’m going to raid I don’t want to do it half-assed. I hate afk’ers, alt-tabbers, people that don’t run back after a wipe, etc. It isn’t fair to others and whether I’m naive or not to expect others to return the favor, I still expect it.

Macharious

I hear what you are saying Kyr, and I agree with just about everything. Unfortunatly I havn’t reached your age yet lol so I don’t think I could have put it as well as you just did. That is one thing that I would like to add to the requirments of anyone who wishes to lead raids for us. This game is about having fun and socializing…but wiping is not fun. I have always had a hardcore raiding mentality but I’ve never raided hardcore. If it were 100% up to me we would be in ULD25 4-5 days a week pushing through progression, Granted if I did that very few of you all would want to do it with me so that leaves us with our current situation. I am not going to say no “sidebar” conversations…but when we reach the point where it is a distraction and we die becuase of it, it needs to stop.

And 1 more side note: A whipe does not mean the following:

1) HEY WE’RE ALL DEAD! time for a BIO!
2) Man, that sucked! I think I’ll watch TV while others run back so they can Rez me.
3) Looks like we’re close to a boss, I think I’ll have a smoke.
4) I’m thirsty, brb getting (insert desired drink)

See what I am getting at? Downtime between wipes wastes a lot more time that I think everyone realizes.

Then here I come, SHITSTORMER MIKATA, GO!!

Mikata

Personally, as you all may know, in game over vent I’m a very VERY social person when I become confortable with the group. I like to joke around, kid, etc to lighten the mood… and I know most of the time I don’t know my play, and I have a tendency to speak out at the most inopportune times when I should know better to keep my mouth shut.

In my opinion, idle conversation, chit-chat, jokes are okay during trash (unless it’s Ulduar, because Ulduar trash is Srs Bsnz), but come boss time, and I’m getting better at this, conversations need to come to a stop and we need to focus on what we’re doing, even if it’s a boss we’ve farmed 12,458,556,142 times, because there’s still the possibility to wipe if just ONE person isn’t paying attention. (Grobb, Thadd, KT, and 4 Horsmen) And that’s not including if you’re a healer or tank. That’s just DPS that can cause a wipe in Naxx alone.

And I agree with the tabbing out, and the running back, and the afking, and just the general Bullshit people do after a wipe. It is really frustrating because instead of everyone running back and buffing and going, we have sit spend twice as much time ressing, then waiting for the afk’ers or tabbers to come back, then buff, then ready check, then starting the encounter. I make a note that before a raid, I have all of my essencials in-game and out-of-game ready before hand. (Reagents, repaired in game, have a smoke, get a drink, maybe a little snack outside of game) That way I don’t have to go afk unless we’re like 2 hours in and I have to piss like a pregnant russian race-horse.

Bottomline… yes, we have slackers who don’t share a ‘hardcore raider’ mentality, and they’re just casually along for the ride to have fun with friends, but they don’t understand how much that frustrates the rest of us.

And dear god I started ranting… I’M DONE!!

Kyrilean

Don’t misunderstand me. Some of the best raids I have been on have been wipe nights were joking was about the only thing we could do to alleviate the situation. It’s the not paying attention and not bringing your a-game that frustrates and upsets me. There’s a difference.

Taking a bunch of new people that don’t know the fights in a Naxx25 at this point and having them make mistakes wouldn’t frustrate me. They need a chance to learn just like anyone else. It was the impression that was given from people that do know the fights, even if they’re on alts, that they weren’t paying attention.

I have to say that overall the guild officers are doing a fantastic job and deserve our thanks and respect when they’re leading raids. It’s not an easy job.

Mikata

I understand what you’re saying Ky, but my point was that while it’s fun and games for MOST of the group, for SOME of the group is a hassle to pick up the slack of someone who really doesn’t want to be there, is pretty much forcing themselves because they want to progress. It’s aggrivating when instead of running back, someone wants to tab out, or go afk, and fuck off… or even worst, just sit there and openly admit they’re too lazy to run back and joke because they think it’s cute.

I love, actually no, I prefer to talk and have fun during a raid, but like you said earlier, when that joking and fun causes a distraction, it quickly turns from fun and games to “Angry Raid Leader STFU AND LET’S FINISH THIS SHIT SO I CAN LOG AND GO SMOKE A CIGARETTE”

*eyes Steve*

Regardless, it’s one thing to make things friendly and fun, dicking off and circle jerking each other in vent on trash and ‘Lol Die to the Frogger Boss’ because you had lag. “Hahahaha…. point and laugh… let’s go.” But it’s another when you’re trying to do 4 horsemen, and two people are in the back trying to comminicate with one another as to when to switch, but you’ve got someone else over vent being loud and obnoxious and they think they’re being cute. Trash = okay to talk, Some Bosses = Okay to talk, Other Bosses = STFU and Pay Attention.

Also…

(God I can’t stop with the QQs today, fuck!!)

I have seen this before… and if I see it again, I will chew someone’s head off.

Don’t try to be cute and funny during a boss fight. Don’t stand in fire thinking you’re going to get healed. Don’t stand near others if you’re injected with a mutagen because you’re still casting. Don’t ignore adds or the boss if you’re instructed to kill something. Don’t engage the boss unless you’re the tank and EVERYONE is present and ready. Don’t talk back or complain about DPS or Healing assignments.

Once again… I’m done.

Now will all this said and done in the General Forums where EVERY MEMBER OF OUR GUILD CAN READ THE THREAD, let’s see how many ACTUALLY read it, learn from it, adjust because of it, and do better thanks to it.

Dear Whitney,

Why is it I suddenly remember you, and you’re twisted little teeny-bopper ways? Why is it that when I’m sitting at work, eating my Orville Redenbacher’s popcorn and drinking my Diet Pepsi Max that I remember how terrible of a priest you are… and how even worst of a little boy you are?

Perhaps it is because I miss you… yes, Whitney… I miss you dearly.

Ah, I remember the days so well, sitting in Gchat in Fearless listening to you wave your 14-year-old e-peen around… and how no one cared. How we laughed about you getting carried to recieve gear, and you getting angry in that cute little way you do, hitting that little caps lock key and typing every foul word known to men. It was so adorable.

Or how we would have a joyous time in vent, mocking and laughing every time you spoke, not just because you sounded like a 12 year old girl who’s voice was cracking like a toad, but because once again, you felt the need to puff out your chest, and wave that prepubescent e-peen of yours… when, here’s the best part, no one cared!

Oh… and don’t forget that time in Kara when you did more damage on a boss fight casting smite than most DPS… when you were supposed to be healing, and wondered why everyone was dying? Oh you were so terrible!

But what I miss the most, was that vindictive little back-stabbing, vicious trick of yours when you snuck and alt into the guild, and oh how convincing it was… Whitney… Whìtney, so similar…. and tried to scare us by gquitting… CAUSING TWO OF OUR CORE RAIDERS TO LEAVE BECAUSE OF YOUR IMMATURITY!!!

Ah yes…. I remember why I miss you so much…dickhead.

I hope you die in a fire… and not just any fire, an electrical fire, so when they try to put you out, I hope they throw water on you, so you get electrocuted WHILE burning in the fire… dickhead.

Love Always and Forever,
♥Mika
